02 / Why this route existed
Make the work
with what is possible.
Retinitis pigmentosa.
Living with retinitis pigmentosa changes what access, time and independence look like. The conventional studio and industry path is not automatically available.
Family comes first.
There is no spare family income for studio time and no safe home space where I can record, mix and develop my sound without interference. That is the reality around the work, not a lack of commitment.
The songs still got made.
AI-assisted production gave me a way to hear the songs finished enough to exist. The record is here because I kept making musical and editorial decisions.
03 / Artist statement
I am an artist.
Whether people like it or not.
I am not interested in the dogfight — losing your dignity for terrible pay, views, likes or a stuffed toy at the end of an industry track. If people begin to care, lovely. If they do not, the work still matters to me.
I have a rap album written. It needs a serious engineer and studio partner to complete properly. Until that becomes possible — hopefully through public grants — I will keep building the conditions I can control.
