Cloud Girls train in Arnemaelia. Balance, rhythm and motion become the way they speak.
That language is used with Aetherkin — sentient beings that choose their own bonds and cannot be owned, assigned or forced.
The training can bring a Cloud Girl to the edge. It cannot make an Aetherkin say yes.
She trains.
She goes Off the Edge.
The Aetherkin answers.
Aetherbinding
When the bond
is chosen
Off the Edge is a real leap from Arnemaelia. An Aetherkin may catch her, or it may refuse.
If the bond is not there, she is returned safely and may try again.
If they choose one another, the Aetherbinding begins — a bond between Cloud Girl, Aetherkin and Oti-Zahruhl.
No assignment. No ownership. A bond chosen by both.
