The Living Chains

The Plateaus lie within Oti-Zahruhl. They are not impossibly distant from populated regions, but their routes are remote, treacherous and deliberately difficult to find.

Every culture possesses knowledge too sacred, dangerous or consequential to leave exposed. Elion provides the offsite distance such knowledge requires: guarded archives, relics, rites, histories and forces whose loss—or misuse—could alter entire civilisations.

The Plateaus themselves are towering crystalline energy conduits. Living stones hum beneath ancient glyphs and guarded temples. Dimensional structures sit where time, space and planetary pressure behave differently.

Some records name a Nexus Gate deep within the Plateaus and Chrono Relics associated with the flow of time. Whatever their final interpretation, nothing held there is casual.
